Real Estate Photography!
For those of you who know me and know my family, my wonderfully talented mother obtained her Real Estate license last year (and has been absolutely killing it, by the way! She works in NY if any of you out there are looking to buy or sell -- You're welcome, Mom.). With her new gig, came a new one for myself. I've now photographed quite a few different listed properties and so far, and have really loved the work and the process.
With real estate photography, the work is so much more technical and the days seem longer. There's much more involved other than just lighting and composition. You have to focus on capturing the entire space, small details within the shot aka no visible "eye-sores", varieties of angles, lighting with windows and showcasing included features like fireplaces and appliances. Phew! One home that we did the other day took 5+ hours to shoot, with another of 5+ hours of editing later.
Though the work has been more specific and requires a bit more finesse, I'm enjoying the process. Photographing people can often times be easy -- "Okay, smile! 1, 2, 3, *click*". I'm glad to train and flex different skills sets within photography.
